Our Building

We are very proud of our state-of-the-art building, which was formerly the site of Charlton Lodge Care Home. Following a £4.5 million rebuild, the school opened in September 2019 with a range of bespoke design features, including:

• Acoustic ceilings throughout
• Sound-absorbing flooring
• Adjustable lighting in classrooms
• Magnetic locking doors
• 19 individual cubicle toilets
• Sensory pathways
• Sensory gardens

 

Quiet Zones

Most classrooms have a Quiet Zone space located nearby, which students can access with permission if they want to engage in quiet learning or to take a sensory break. There is also a sensory room and a reading room, as well as our Pastoral Hub, which students can visit at any time.
